You have the power to change your perspective with Fabiana Peterson

We are coming off an extremely heavy year. As I write this, despite the ugliness and trials/tribulations of 2020, history is being made today – and there is power in that perspective switch. It doesn’t mean that we will ignore what has previously happened in our lives, the trauma that we have experienced, the loss that has occurred, or the frustrating pieces that may cause us to experience shame – rather redefining what those mean for us. Looking for the opportunities to move forward and grow.

Growth is hard work and takes time. It doesn’t happen over night. This month I wanted to bring you guests on the podcast that were going to assist you in exploring what you might need in your tool-kit in define what your purpose was and grow in it.

We actually possess all of the power within ourselves to go in the directions we want to, it’s just whether or not we make the choice to push through, do the hard stuff and get there. As I’ve said before there is no magic formula or get rich quick scheme. While yes, I recognize that is a incredibly privileged statement to say, yes there are systems that work as blocks for some to not move forward – let’s break that down a bit more. As history is made today with Madame Vice President Kamala Harris being sworn in as the first on two accords – female and woman of color Vice President of the United States of America; what if she let her comfort and doubt win — would our little girls know that was possible for them too? How do we live out our purpose if we only listen to the negativity? If we only see the obstacle and say there isn’t a way around? There is. We need each other and we need the ability to be creative. After all – Kamala and many other’s who are firsts didn’t get there without looking at every obstacle creatively.

On today’s episode, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Fabiana Peterson a Brain-Life Coach. She brings true life experience as well as certification and education to be able to talk to us about exploring more of our mindset to impact our purpose. She brings exactly the element I discussed above about creativity alive in our discussion. No creativity isn’t just the stroke of a paint brush to a canvas (that is beautiful) it is also how we approach different situations in our lives.

“Creativity creates opportunities.

Comfort blocks us from opportunities.”

Fabiana believes that we can change our mindset. Which impacts our overall health and wellness – basically our LIFE. After all do you really want to live in a space that is meh – or do you want to experience life to YOUR fullest? She shares with us tips about how to transform your brain’s perspective – no we aren’t talking blindly being positive aka toxic positivity, we are talking about switching your brain. Here is what she says:

What are the areas of your life that you want to impact?

What are your wants and wishes for that?

Then at the end of every day, ask yourself, how have I lived these out. Again it is more about the vision of how we want our lives to be – the experience.

If you are feeling like you may have something in your life that is affecting you in a way that doesn’t fill you up right now – may you know it’s a difficult conversation you have to have, a new job you want but are scared to pursue, a toxic relationship you are in, an environment that isn’t serving you must listen to today’s episode with Fabiana Peterson.

Than after listening, if you define that you need to work more on your understanding of your financial wellness – stop living in denial of where you are, understand your wealth, and stop making excuses for being to busy to understand how your money works as a tool to live your life in purpose and on purpose – schedule time for your Wealth Assessment with me.

Wise Women Build Wealth

On today’s episode, we are talking about making a career change and the importance of a support system during big transitions. The questions you might ask yourself are; How do you know when it’s time to move on? What do I need to know about tax planning and retirement planning while transitioning? According to a survey by InHerSight, seven in ten women are looking to change careers. This is up 28 percent since we posed the same question just last year. So, why are they looking to change careers? We are seeing that a common theme is “burnout.”

My Favorite Moments as we Celebrate Episode 100

I am pumped that we are celebrating our 100th episode of The Thrive Forward podcast. Our first podcast episode aired August 26, of 2020 and it is now July of 2022. During this time, we have covered a variety of topics ranging from personal to professional as well as abstract to complex financial topics. I have sat down with countless leaders across many fields, all of them demonstrating the reality that money touches every aspect of your life.
