We are going to take the next few weeks to address the difference between a mutual fund, an ETF and index fund. Why? Because you asked! Today on Money on Your Mind we’ll focus specifically on the question “What is a mutual fund?” Think of a mutual fund similar to a pot luck (yes, that’s right) it’s essentially a type of financial vehicle made up of a pool of money collected from many investors to invest in securities like stocks, bonds, money market instruments, and other assets.
