Get out of your loungewear into some sparkle!

What sparks JOY for you?

This week on Thrive For[e]ward podcast we are excited to welcome guest Amy Seeman as we are continuing our series of preparing for the holidays and the end of the year. Amy is a Fashion Stylist and self-proclaimed Keep It Realist. She has made it her life’s mission to empower men and women to dress for their most authentic selves. Having spent the majority of her career in Corporate America, she quickly realized the impact your image has on your personal brand, your confidence and the degree to which you can influence. Amy has a great philosophy and one I agree with … that what you wear should spark joy and reflect your personality. It’s about finding the right pieces that fit you and make you feel confident in how you are showing up.

We invite you to listen as we are not only talking about what to wear during the holiday time but also some creative ideas on gifting. Amy and I both share a passion for finding deals or those hidden gems as well as gifting with purpose and personalization to friends and family.

Here are some take away tips from our episode:

  1. Find treasures all year round

Shop thrift stores and local businesses. Pick up items and store away. You never know when you will need that perfect gift.

  2. Get crafty

No one loves a personalized gift more than your friends and family members … it shows you are thinking of them.

  3. Prioritize Packaging

Wrapping gifts creatively can not only add to the thoughtfulness of the gift but reduce your environmental footprint.

  4. Experiences Count

Think about things that are time spent or time saved – giving the gift of museum memberships, coupon books to do activities together or what about a craft class? The list is endless, but time spent with family and friends creating memories are priceless.

We often put ourselves last, it’s important to take time to do what makes us feel good and start to think about the things you have coming up and plan accordingly. Remember, if you splurge on something fun and festive, you can always wear it again but changing up the look.

And remember, let’s support our small businesses during the holiday season. Here are few of my favorites.
